We Facilitate Safe Learning Spaces

According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death among young people ages 15-24. According to an article by, Cleveland ranks as the most stressed city (out of 180 cities surveyed) for the 4th straight year in a row as of 2023. This is mainly due to the poverty that exists in the city.

Social and Emotional Leaning (SEL) is crucial for the residents of Cleveland for how to handle stressful situations as well as understanding how not to continue this cycle of poverty and stress in their families.

Also, per one of our partners, we go to school for 12 to 16 years to learn reading, writing and arithmetic; but never learn about “How Money Works”! Our foundation provides solutions for these major areas of concern for the communities we serve.

The vision of the APW Legacy Foundation is to create a legacy of knowledge, communication, trust, truth, honesty, and wealth.  We are known as the premiere agency for educating the communities we serve in how to move from poverty to abundance in mindset and life.

— Our Story

Annette and Soneakqua White are the co-founders of the Annette P White Legacy Foundation. Annette grew up in Cleveland with only the necessities needed to survive. However, she knew there was a better life and sought to find it. She made sure her daughter, Soneakqua, grew up in a much better situation than she did. After experiencing amazing lives and careers in Texas, both Annette and Soneakqua have returned home to Ohio to show family and the community of Cleveland how to thrive where they are. The G.R.O.W. program is just a small part of this endeavor.
